So Good I Repurchased - 5 Things I finished and Repurchased

Today I'm going to show yall some things I finished, and then repurchased because I loved them so much!

while I didn't "finish" my first Modern Renaissance palette, I'v hit pan or fully finished 7 shadows. So I bought a new one, to use for when my first one is finished!!

L'oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation is wonderful! It's my longest lasting foundation in the summer heat I found. I use the smallest amount, and really spread and press this foundation into my skin, and my skin looks amazing! I used to have the shade 304, but it was way too pink. So I went up a shade to 305 which is perfect!

I used to own MAC Pro Long Wear Concealer in NW25, but it was too pink and dark, so once I finished that. I bought the shade NC20. which is lighter than my skintone. So It brightens my under eyes perfectly!

LUSH's Santa Baby lip tint is my holy grail, all time favourite lipstick! I'v only ever finished two lipsticks before. And this is one of them!

I'm on my third compact of the Annabelle Brow-To-Go!! It's my perfect shade match for my brows, and it lasts all day. What more could I ask for!?

I wasn't planning on doing this post today, but I loved my look so much I had to share it with you all!

Lets jump right in!

For skincare, I washed my face, then I applied three pumps of Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. Then a full dose of La Roche-Posay SPF60 sunblock.

After that sunk into the skin, and set. I applied a thin layer of Hard Candy Ultra Light formula primer over the center of my face to smooth and blur pores.After that dried, I applied Becca Backlight Priming Filter to my whole face for some glow! For "foundation" I swiped my Wet n Wild Photo Focus Concealer in Light/Medium Beige onto my cheeks, around the sides of my mouth, my forehead and between my brows! I took my Wet n Wild flat top foundation brush and tapped/buffed everything out. I took my clean ring finger, and tapped some of my NYX dark circle corrector concealer under my eyes, focusing on my inner corners where I'm darkest. I switched to a flat paddle brush, and tapped a super thin layer of Tarte Shape Tape under my eyes and into my inner corners. To set my undereyes, I took ELF's highlighting brush and rolled that in my MAC loose powder, and then lightly rolled it under my eyes. For the rest of my face, I used a fluffy powder brush from Real Techniques and pressed the powder all over my face!

For cheeks, I took a round foundation buffing brush and dipped into my matte bronzer, and then buffed that up-ward just under my cheek bones, to add warmth and some definition. Next I took a thin angled blush brush and dipped into the reddish plum matte shade from the ELF Dark Blush Palette, tapped off the excess lightly brushed it on my wrist. Then I ran that along my cheek bones for some colour! I highlighted my cheek bones, nose and upper lip with Physicians Formula Light Bronzer.

Eyes were ALL The Modern Renaissance Palette. Yet again! I started off with the last few swishes of Tempera all over. Then took my favourite crease brush and swished two layers of Raw Sienna in my crease and hood as a transition. Next I took the SMALLEST amount of Red Ocher, and I lightly applied that to my outer crease/hood. Switching to my 217 I buffed and blended everything out next. Going back to my crease brush, I fluffed the lightest bit of Love Letter through my crease for more pink/warmth. For the lids, I took a flat synthetic brush and pressed Colourpop Paradox into the modile lids. To "set" Paradox, I dipped into Venetian Red, and pressed that over top. I went back to my 217, and buffed and blended the red up into my crease slightly. I took a pencil brush next, and lightly circled Cyprus Umber into the very outer portion of my eyes to deepen and darken.

I applied a quick layer of mascara next, I only did a light layer because I knew i'd be putting on falsies. After the top dried, I applied some to the bottom lashes. Popped on some falsies.

Added MAC Twig to my lips.

Even More Modern Renaissance Palette EOTD's

I haven't sat down and written a blog post in 2 weeks. So this feels so strange to me! Hahaha!

I thought i'd jump back into writing again with a few Eye's of the day pictures!!


First up is a look I'v done before, But I did it back in February, and I feel like my technique is much better now!!

For this look I primed with Too Faced Shadow Insurance, then took a large flat fluffy brush and pressed Tempera (matte cream) into the primer to lock it in place and set it. I switched to the brush that came with the palette, and used the fluffy crease end and buffed Buon Fresco (Matte mauvey plum) through the crease, onto the hood, and the outer corners. I took the same crease brush and fluffed Antique Bronze (Sheen-y Bronze) on the outer corners and crease for some depth. I took a clean blending brush and did little circles back and forth to blend everything together into a soft colour. I took a pencil brush and placed Cyprus Umber (Matte deep dark brown) directly into the outer crease and outer half of my mobile lids. I took the clean blending brush, and did little circles back and forth again to blend everything! I took a flat shader brush, and pressed Vermeer (Shimmery metallic pinky white) into the inner corners of my mobile lid and tear duct area. I took a wide flat brush and ran a mix of Antique Bronze and Cyprus Umber under my lower lash line.

I added two coats of mascara and we're good to go!


For the second look, I went a little more dramatic, smokey, and warm!:

For this look, I primed with TFSI, Pressed Tempera into the lids to set, then went in with Raw Sienna (Matte light wheat shade) and fluffed that through the crease as a transition. With the same brush I blended Burnt Orange (matte burnt orange) over top to add some warmth to the upper crease/hood. I decided to use Red Ocher (matte brick shade) in the crease to add some warmth and depth. I placed that directly onto the lid and the crease with a pencil brush then went in with a clean blending brush and buffed it all out. I then took the same pencil brush and placed Cyprus Umber on the furthest outer portion of my eye, and blended that up into the crease. I took a wide flat brush and Pressed Venetian Red (Matte red base with silver sheen) under my lower lashes to make the green in my eyes POP. I added Primavera (Mettalic Yellow/Gold)

I added some Tempera to my upper hood to blend it out, patted Vermeer onto the brow bone. Added three coats of mascara. And we're done!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Foundation Stick in the shade Warm Ivory Review

As you all know, because I wont stop talking about it, I'm going on a week long trip this summer. And I'm planning my travel makeup bag already!

So I picked up the ABH Stick Foundation! I figured a stick foundation would be perfect for the trip, as it wont leak, nor will the packaging shatter. And it's quick and mess free for quick applications.

I picked up the shade Warm Ivory, which on sephora is described as "Light skin with Yellow undertones"

Which sounds like me, no? (for reference NC20 is a hair too light for my current winter skin!!)

Well, it wouldn't pick up on camera, but after I tore into the box this came in, and opened it. My excitement was crushed. WARM Ivory, in the packaging turned out to be PINK Ivory!! When swatched on my hand, (Which isn't as yellow toned as my neck, might I add!!) It's miss piggy pink. I even asked my makeup unaware brother, what tone he thought it was. And he looked at me like I was stupid and said "pink, duh"

SIGH.

I decided that I'll wear it for a few days, see if it breaks me out, and if it wears well. Then if I truly liked the formula i'd return and get the correct undertone.

Onto pictures!


Here is my skin with just my morning skincare on (My face is lighter than my neck/chest!!): 

-I have Acne scarring on the hollows of my cheeks, and light redness on the apples of my cheeks

Here is ONE layer of the stick foundation buffed into the skin with a foundation brush:

-You can see the sheen/natural finish of this foundation. It's 100% not a dry matte foundation!!

Here is another layer pressed into my cheeks where my acne scarring is:

-As you can see it builds up well. But only if you press it, and pat it into the skin. Not if you buff it in!! That just sheers it out.

The foundation set with a warm toned powder (that's deeper than the foundation, so the shade looks deeper/more natural here):

-You can see the sheen/shine of the foundation is gone with the pressed powder.

Here's the foundation with a finished face of makeup:

-I have all ABH Modern Renaissance palette on my eyes, MAC brow set on my brows, Physicians Formula blush and bronzer on the cheeks, and MAC Twig on the lips!

Thoughts: 

This isn't a dry, thick, cakey stick foundation. As long as I have moisturizer on (which I do every day before makeup anyway!) this smooths over face without tugging and pulling at my skin. I use my Real Techniques Expert face brush to blend this out, and it blends out with ease! I don't have to make my wrists ache to buff it out and melt into my skin. But, please remember I have oily, non wrinkled skin. If your skin is dry I can see it being slightly tug-y on the skin.

It lasts a whole work day on me, a good 9-10 hours. I do have to blot 1 to 2 times. Which is actually pretty good for me!! When I was blending my highlight on the tip of my nose with my blush brush, it rubbed off the foundation there and made it patchy, just a warning, because I know other oily-s struggle with that!

Amount: 9g / 0.32 Oz. (A usual liquid foundation holds more product just fyi!)

Modern Renaissance EOTD pt 3.

Hello all! Happy Saturday!!

I wanted to show this look I did yesterday with yall!!

For the eyes, I started with ELF Sheer eyelid primer, and patted that in with clean fingers. I then set from lashline to brow bone with Tempera. I took a big, fluffy crease brush and buffed Raw Sienna into my crease and up onto my hood. I like to take my first crease shade up to just under my brow bone so when I relax my face you'll be able to see some of the warmth there!! I then took some of Warm Taupe and buffed that into the crease, not going as high on the hood as Raw Sienna. I changed brushes and got a smaller crease brush and ran some of Antique Bronze into the crease, and just barely peeking out onto the hood. I took the same small crease brush, and I patted Cyprus Umber onto the outer corner of my mobile lids, and picked up my fluffy blending brush and buffed out the Cyprus Umber so it was just a touch of dark brown in the outer corners. I patted Primavera onto my inner 3/4 of my mobile lids after that, then taking my 217 brush I took out any harsh lines. Two coats of mascara on my upper lashline later, I applied some of Avon's always on point brown pencil eye liner to my waterlines. I took Cyprus Umber and ran that along my lower lashline. Lastly added three coats of mascara to my lower lashes!

And that's it!!

Modern Renaissance EOTD's

Hello!!! Today i'm showing you some looks i'v done so far, with my new MR palette! I'm REALLY loving this palette. It's so lovely!

This is the first look, I did a mauvey/plummy look.

I used Tempera from lashline to brow bone to set my eye primer, then I took Buon Fresco into the crease, then I used Antique Bronze on the outer corners and outer half of my mobile lid. I then patted Vermeer onto my inner corners, and inner halfs of my lids!

Two coats of mascara later we're done!

My first successful halo eye!!! I used Tempera to set my primer, then I buffed Buon Fresco in the crease lightly, I took a packing brush and patted Antique Bronze onto my outer and inner corners, and lightly blended . I then took my finger and lightly patted Vermeer onto my lids to act like a spot light!

Add a nice vampy lip, and some lashes and you're good to go!!

Modern Renaissance Palette Quick Swatches, First Impressions, and Tutorial!

Hello, hello, hello!!

My birthday was the 11th, a few days ago, and as a gift, I was allowed to order this palette, and it came in the mail today!!

So here's some quick swatches on my skin, Some quick first impressions on the formula, and a quick tutorial I did the first time I used this palette!

So far, I'v swatched, and touched every shade, and I'v used seven out of fourteen in a look (the one below) and the formula is creamy, soft, and delicious. The two metallics/shimmers, are dense, and SO creamy. The matte's are a touch clumpy if you pick up too much, and can be very powdery!!

I'm really digging this formula though! we shall see how long it lasts on my oily hooded lids!

(It also passes the "shannon test" and I can JUST use this palette to do a whole look. AKA It has a matte cream/shade lighter than my skintone, a matte warm brown, and a matte deep brown!)

For this look, I started off with ELF sheer eyelid primer from lash line to brow bone, then I set that primer with Tempera (Matte white/cream), I took a fluffy blending brush and ran Raw Sienna (Matte orangey light tan shade) in the crease to start building it up, then I took a pencil brush and some of Red Ocher (Matte burnt red) and I ran that through the crease, but not as high as I took Raw Sienna. I took my 217 and buffed that out, then I picked up some of Antique Bronze (Satiny deep bronze) and I patted that onto my outer corners. I started by putting it onto the outer corner of my mobile lid and I blended it up onto my hood. I took a dense lid brush, and I patted Primavera (Highly shimmery yellowy gold) onto my inner 3/4 of my mobile lids, And up onto my hood a little bit in the inner corners. I blended the two lid shades where they met in the middle. Then I took a small stiff pencil brush and I packed and smoked out my lower lashline wtih Love Letter (Matte raspberry) I then took Vermeer (Highly shimmery cream coloured shade) and highlighted my brow bones, and inner corners. I then added mascara, and winged liner. And I decided to add some more of Love Letter ONTOP of Antique Bronze on my outer corners, so I took the fluffy end of the brush that came with the palette and I patted and lightly blended that!!

And that's it!! It looks like I spent SO much time layering, and blending. When in fact it took me like 10 minutes to do this!!

I'll be doing more looks with this palette in the upcoming while!! :)
