My Version Of The "Ride-Or-Die" Makeup Tag!

Hello all!!! How are you today? I'm feeling very energetic and ready to write!!

Today I'm going to show you all my "If I could only keep one product from each category of makeup" favorites and a look using them all!!


Primer:

Cover FX Mattifying Primer with Anti Acne treatment - I love this primer!! It smooths my skin, feels light on my oily skin, and doesn't make me extra shiny!

Foundation: 

NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer in Custard - I love using this on long days!! I'll press it onto any redness, and zits on my cheeks. And around my nose for a soft even complexion!


                                                                      Concealer:

Sephora Make No Mistakes High Coverage Concealer in 04 - This is the BEST under eye concealer i'v ever found!! I only need a thin layer and a half under my eyes, and I look so fresh and awake!! It does crease into my deeper lines, but once set it stays put!

Eye Primer:

MAC Prep and Prime Eye Base - I used TFSI for 4 years. But I tried this, and It works the exact same! AND it's cheaper, and contains more product. This is very thick, and tacky!! I love it!

Setting Powder: 

Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Powder - I love to set my whole face with this powder!! It makes my makeup last longer and break down less.

Pressed Powder: 

MAC Studio Fix Pressed Powder in NC20 - This is my favorite oil controlling powder! It's very matte and full coverage. But because it's so matte and full coverage, I can use this while I'm out and about on long days to touch up without making my base go splotchy!! It's amazing!

Bronzer/Contour: 

                                     

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow in M-646 - This is THE perfect bronzer for my skintone!! I have very prominent warm yellow undertones. So anything too grey looks straight up ashy and dead on me. This is perfect! It blends out really easily, and adds subtle dimension to my cheeks!

Blush:

Clinique Cheek Pop in Black Honey Pop - This is the best blush I'v ever found!! It's a nice warm plum on my skin. It's so easy to blend out, never looks like too much, and always looks perfect!

Highlight:

                                     

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow in ME-512 - This is a stunning gold shade that I use as a highlight on my cheek bones, inner corners, and brow bone. It's blends like butter on toast, and can be sheered out, but can also be intense!

Brow Powder/Gel:

                                     

Annabelle Brow To Go in Medium/Deep - I use the cooler deeper powder in this kit, and I use that to fill in the tails of my brows. Once set it lasts all day!!

MAC Pro Long Wear Waterproof Brow Set in Brown Ebony - This was my first brow gel I ever bought, and now I'm 3 tubes in!! This is the perfect colour for my brows, it isn't crunchy but keeps my thick brows in place. It's also pigmented enough to be used alone!!

Eye Shadow Palette: 

ELF Mad For Matte 1 - As a hooded eye'd gal. I need matte transition, crease, and deepener shades. This is the best palette for me in that regard!! I use this every single day no exceptions. The colours blend out so easily, they don't go patchy or too sheer like some matte shades do.

Single Eye Shadows: 

NARS Malacca Single Shadow - This is basically my favorite lower lash line shadow!! It adds some greenish brown shadow to my eyes that really make my warm hazel eyes pop!!

Make Up For Ever Artist Shadows from the top left to the bottom - D-926, D-826, and D-868 - If I had to pick ONE single shadow as my only one. I'd pick D-826 Fig. But I really adore all four of these shades!!! They all work SO well with my warm, brown/hazel eyes!!

Mascara: 

Benefit Roller Lash/Sephora Collection LashCraft Big Volume Mascaras - I know, I'm cheating. I couldn't just pick one!! I have crappy lashes. They are thin, and short. So I use the thicker/creamier Sephora Mascara first, and do two coats of that. Then I do two coats of Roller Lash to thin out and separate my lashes! And I get HUGE lashes with this combo!! Both do not smudge, flake, or transfer!

Lipstick: 

LUSH Santa Baby Lip Tint - This isn't a shock to ANYONE here. But this is my all time favorite lip stick!! It stays all day, doesn't dry my lips out, and is a stunning colour!

The "least amount of products I need to get out the door" kind of tag?

Hello all!!

Today I thought I'd do something fun!

I sat down and seriously thought what do I "need" (I know makeup is not a need thank you!) to feel put together going out the door?

I want my oily skin mattified, I want the apples of my cheeks and my under eyes covered, I want matte powder, a lil bit of colour and sheen on my cheeks, long lashes to make my smaller eyes look big, a bit of sheen in the inner corners, and a bright lip!

So here comes my quick, gotta get out the door NOW products!

I'd pat Make Up For Ever Step 1 Mattifying primer into my T Zone, then do three dots of Kat Von D's Lock it Concealer Creme under my eyes, and a swipe along each cheek and buff and tap that out! Then i'd lock everything in with a good mattifying powder, like MAC Blot.

Next I'd add some colour to my cheeks by mixing this ELF bronzer/blush duo that I love. I'd then prime my eyes, and pat a light shimmery shade on my inner corners and on the inner part of my mobile lids. Next I'd do a good coat of mascara,

Then a bright lip and we're out the door!!!

V - Vacation destination: I would love to go to Vancouver!! My Native half lives over there, and I have a bunch of friends over there as well!! My other pick would be Quebec/Montreal. But I'm actually going there next september!!

W - Worst Habit: Licking my lips when I'm anxious!! Ugh!

X - X Ray's I'v had: Because of my tumor, I'v had 6. Just this year. Plus I have chronic nerve pain/damage. So I'v had well over 20 in my young life!!

Y - My favourite Food: Spicy Tofu Pad Thai!! YUM.

Z - Zodiac Sign: Aquarius!! (Everyone says I act very much like a stereotypical Aquarius! Haha!)

Hey friends!

I took this tag so SO seriously oh my gosh. 

1. 

Makeup Forever Step 1 Mattifying Base! I love this primer!! It doesn't feel super silicone filled (I read some where it doesn't have 'cones in it? I'm too lazy to get up and check) I have oily skin. And this helps keep my skin matte and non oily!!

2. 

Too Face Shadow Insurance! I'v had this tube so long, they've changed the look of the tube, but it just seems like this tube is ENDLESS. Aha. I have oily, hooded, eyes. This, and the Elf Sheer eye lid primer are the ONLY eye primers that work for me. Urban decay? Crease city. Smash box? Crease city!! etc. It's like $24/$26 here, so it's a good chunk of change. But In my mind it's TOTALLY worth it!

3. 

Makeup Forever Mat Velvet+ Foundation in the shade #40. I again, have oily skin, so I personally prefer to use matte foundations. And while this one is the newest thing to my collection, i'm in LOVE. It doens't cling to any dry patches I get on my nose, and it sets to a matte finish! The only thing i'd change, is on myself, and that's getting shade #35. This one OXIDIZES, It comes out a medium light yellow. And turns into a straight medium with a bit of orange on my face. No matter what lotion, sunblock, primer I apply. So if you're going to purchase this, go a shade lighter/swatch on your skin and let it set!!

4. 

Maybelline Fit me Concealer in #20 Sand Sable. You can tell this concealer is well loved. ahaha. It's a light, super yellow toned, medium coverage concealer! I love using this on my cheeks to cover up any redness my foundation missed, and under my eyes because it's a subtle brightener!! It lasts all day! I will even use just this dotted onto my cheeks and under eyes and then powder and i'm good to go!

5. 

Sephora Brand Matte Perfection Powder foundation in the shade 18 Golden Linen. This is a sheer coverage powder. I would DEFINITELY NOT call this a powder foundation!! I'v tried this on it's own, and it really, just mattified my skin and subtly evened it. But! I love this as my setting powder! It's a matte finish, and it's petty darn yellow toned. So it matches my banana skin! It's $25 here in Canada. And it's officially the most money i'v ever spent on a powder. But I really am in love with this powder!!

6. 

Physicians Formula Argan wear bronzer in Light. This bronzer is more like a highlighter on me. I have to pack on 4+ layers to make it show colour on my cheeks. So this is 100% not dark skin friendly. I haven't seen the darker shade, but I have no faith in PF's skin colour range to be honest. For me, I prefer a shimmery, golden brown bronzer. And this is basically that! It's a golden brown, and it has a inbetween a sheen and a shimmer. It's so beautiful, and natural on my skin. It has a VERY strong scent, for any sensitive skin people!!

7. 

Makeup Forever Artist Pallet #1. I was going to say, my custom made mac/coastal scents pallet. But I figured that was cheating. So I went with my second most used eye shadow pallet! I am in LOVE with the MUFE Artist shadow formula! Its a gel/powder. And it's so creamy, and so beautiful. I am a self proclaimed "shitty blender" and with the creamy-ness of this formula is practically blends itself! I love to use the far right row, as highlights on my cheek bones. and I love the top middle show shade in the crease as a transition, and I love the very center on the inner lid, and lastly the bottom left is the most BEAUTIFUL brown i'v ever seen on my eyes!! They also last all day over top of primer!

8. 

Makeup Forever Excessive Lash mascara. I LOVE THIS MASCARA. I have naturally curly, short, whimpy lashes. You can't see them at all when I have no mascara on, So i'm usually super extra with mascara and put on three to four coats. With this mascara, I put a layer on the top and bottom of my upper lashes, and that gives me the EXACT same drama as the 3/4 coats of different mascaras!! I was BLOWN away the first time I used this!! I will say, it's EXTREMELY wet at first (which I prefer!) and it gets clumpy super easily. But I love that look. I know. I said I'd never buy a high end mascara. But I might need to buy the fullsized of this after I finish this sample!!

9. 

Annabelle Brow to Go kit, in the shade Deep dark. I CLEARLY love this kit (I'v hit pan on the darkest shade!!) I adore the wax, and the darkest powder in this kit. I use the dark powder every day to add colour back to my brows. I have never used the lighter shade in my brows (It's never been touched!) It's super light, and really warm. Which I personally don't like. I like a neutral/cool powder. This lasts really well, and is very quick, there is no fall out, and it's very beginner friendly!

10. 

Almay Colour and Care Lip Balm in Plum Me. I bet everyone here is SHOCKED. I, the QUEEN of bold, vibrant, vampy, lips. Picking a tinted lip balm?! I'v been wearing this a ton lately, it's so moisturizing for me, personally. And it adds such a nice tint of redish colour to my lips!! I'm looking forward to wearing the crap out of this in the upcoming Canadian winter!!

That's it! If my makeup collection disappeared (Knocks on wood) I would buy these 10 things first!! I focus my looks around a flawless base. And I think that is really shown here!!
